2010 Discover The 1000 Islands: 1-Day Excursion (Tour)

Our "Kayak Excursion Tour" concentrates on the 'heart of the 1000 islands', a beautiful and rugged 20-mile (30-km) stretch. Our adventure begins west of Gananoque at our family waterfront beach property in the Bateau Channel. Traveling eastwardly we traverse through the islands before ending our day long trip just past the Canadian Span of the 1000 Islands Bridge near the Village of Ivy Lee, Ontario.

Blessed with incredible beauty and rich in history the native people called the 1000 Islands the 'Garden of the Great Spirit'. Today the 1000 Islands region is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (1 of only 12 celebrated sites in Canada). The emerald waters, innumerable channels and 1865 islands are part of St. Lawrence Islands National Park, (Canada's fifth oldest and smallest National Park).

Note: New Sea Kayaks & 'ALL' Kayak Gear is provided. Minimum 6- required. Custom Tours and Team Building Groups are welcome!

"Cool, fantastic, what a day. Larry's knowledge of the 1slands, its history and local lore made a great trip even better"!

Tommy Yung - Toronto

DISCOVER THE 1000 ISLANDS: 1- Day Excursion

Blessed with incredible beauty and rich in history the native people called the 1000 Islands the “Garden of the Great Spirit”. Today the 1000 Islands region is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (1 of only 12 celebrated sites in Canada). The emerald waters, innumerable channels and 1865 islands are part of St. Lawrence Islands National Park, (Canada’s fifth oldest and smallest National Park). Our kayak excursion concentrates on the “heart of the 1000 islands”, a beautiful and rugged 20-mile (30-km) stretch from just west of Gananoque, east to Ivy Lee. This is where 4-genations of my family grew up and our large waterfront property is where our adventure begins!

We launch from the beach front of our “family farm” just west of Gananoque and the islands seem to immediately explode upwardly all around us. With wind & wave normally behind us, our kayak tour traverses easterly through the Admiralty, Lake Fleet, Navy and Lost Channel Island Groups before our journey ends directly underneath the Canadian span of the 1000 Islands Bridge. While exploring the 1000 Islands Region’s unparalleled beauty we’ll discuss it's history, ecology, and its romantic stories.
