H2O Canoe Company Edge 16 Review
As the smallest member of their asymmetrical series which also includes the Boundary 17/6, Horizon 17, and Paramount 16/6, the H2O Canoe Company Edge 16 leads the pack when it comes to maneuverability. The shorter length, higher degree of rocker, and its keel-less, shallow arched hull make for what experienced paddlers will call a ‘responsive’ boat. Although, the straight-lined asymmetrical design still enables better tracking over a symmetrical canoe of similar length and width.
The H2O Canoe Company Edge 16 features a flared hull to increase the craft’s seaworthiness as it sheds water efficiently, and the high volume of the boat offers good load capacity. This, in combination with the boat’s playfulness, make the Edge 16 an aggressive performer whether paddled solo or tandem.
With that being said, it is important to note that the H2O Canoe Company Edge 16 caters towards intermediate to advanced paddlers due to its quick, responsive design. Novice paddlers may find it challenging, but those who wish to learn skills will find a boat they can grow with.
